What to do if the leaves of gardenia wilt

What to do if the leaves of gardenia wilt

1. Control humidity

It does not like places that are too cold or too hot, and has certain requirements for humidity and temperature. Too much water or too much heat will have an adverse effect on its growth. Because its roots are very afraid of water, so if there is too much water in the flowerpot at home, its leaves will wilt.

If the leaves of your gardenia have wilted, the first thing you should think about is whether there is too much water. If this is the reason, you should reduce the amount of watering. Even if you need to water, you should wait until the surface soil is dry. If it is due to lack of water, just add water in time. It has relatively high requirements for water quality and cannot use hard water. It needs to be watered more after noon in summer, otherwise it will easily become listless.

2. Brighten and keep warm

If it is not exposed to the sun frequently, the leaves will wilt easily, so place it where the sun can reach it but the light intensity is not very high. If it is winter, you also need to consider whether it is frostbite. In this case, remove the injured leaves and wrap them with something. It will heal in about two days.

3. Remove pesticide residues

This kind of flower easily attracts small insects. In order to make the flowers beautiful and the air in the room clean, people will spray some medicine to kill the insects. However, many people fail to control the proportions well, and then the leaves are poisoned. In this case, you need to wash the leaves with water to ensure that there is no residue of medicine. Of course, you still need to pay attention to pest control, and spray pesticides regularly so that the leaves can grow healthily.

4. Change soil and control fertilizer

Some people fail to control the proportion when adding fertilizer to the leaves, and the roots of the flowers are burned, so the leaves will wilt. At this time, you should change the soil, but if your gardenia is about to bloom, you cannot do this. You can only change half of the soil, then water it a little, and then dry it in the sun and it will recover on its own. This method can usually save it, but remember, you must not change the soil after the flower buds grow. If your trees do not get enough nutrients and you add too little fertilizer, their leaves will become listless, so the amount of fertilizer you add must be controlled.
