What to do if Hawaiian coconut branches droop

What to do if Hawaiian coconut branches droop

1. Watering issues:

Irregular watering, because Hawaiian coconut is a tropical plant and is suitable for growing in a humid and warm space. Frequent excessive moisture or dryness can cause the leaves to turn yellow and fall off. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain a moderate moisture content in the soil, and when the surrounding air is a bit dry, the surface of its leaves should be sprayed with water to give it suitable growth space. In addition, Hawaiian coconut trees do not like cold weather, so when watering in winter, be careful not to make the soil too wet, just make sure the soil is moist but not dry. In summer, water the plant frequently to keep the soil moist, and it is best to water it thoroughly.

Second, the problem of fertilization:

The principle of fertilizing Hawaiian coconut is that it prefers light fertilizer rather than strong fertilizer. Usually, humus soil, round soil and river sand are used together with a little decomposed organic fertilizer and mixed evenly as the substrate. Liquid fertilizer or granular compound fertilizer can be chosen. Fertilize once every one to two weeks. You can apply less fertilizer each time and increase the frequency of fertilization, which will be more beneficial to the plant condition. Be careful not to over-fertilize, as this can damage the plant's roots, causing the leaves to turn yellow and the branches to droop.

3. Lighting Issues

Although Hawaiian coconut palm loves light, it cannot be grown under direct sunlight. Excessive sunlight will cause its leaves to turn yellow and pale. It also has strong shade tolerance, so it can be grown for a long time in places with insufficient light, such as offices and study rooms. However, if the Hawaiian coconut is kept in a dim light for a long time, it will cause poor development, so it also needs to be exposed to the sun regularly.

4. Ventilation Problem

In warm weather, air your Hawaiian coconut as much as possible. Maintaining circulating moist air is also a necessary condition for it to grow vigorously and keep its branches healthy. During the cultivation process, pay attention to the humidity conditions. If the humidity is too high, increase the ventilation frequency, otherwise it will cause leaf fall.
