What to do if Monstera grows too big

The stem of Monstera deliciosa has nodes like bamboo, and each node has an aerial root and a leaf. The older it is, the thicker and longer the stem becomes, and the more and longer the aerial roots and leaves become. The original beautiful and simple shape of the plant will be destroyed. If it is not controlled, the Monstera will become larger and larger, and the leaves will spread around randomly, affecting its appearance. The branches can be cut off to control the growth of the plant.

The specific method is: from early summer to autumn, you can use sharp scissors to cut along the top of the Monstera, where there are leaves above and aerial roots below. You can cut it into one or several sections, until it can fit in the room. Then plant the cut section of stem with leaves and aerial roots in another pot. When planting, bury all the aerial roots and stems in the soil, press the soil tightly, water it enough, and place it in a semi-shaded place outdoors. After about half a month, it will be able to "acclimate to the pot" and survive, becoming a new pot of Monstera.

Through the above-mentioned "stem cutting and dividing method" and strengthening daily fertilizer and water management, new leaves and aerial roots will grow again on the stems of the plants in the original pots, whether they are newly divided or cut. This not only breeds new plants, but also solves the problem of too many leaves to fit indoors, and can be used year after year, killing two birds with one stone.
