What to do if orchids are dehydrated

Solution to orchid seedling dehydration: sterilization and deworming

The dehydrated orchid seedlings have poor disease resistance and are already in danger. How can we allow pests and diseases to continue to harm them? Therefore, we must sterilize and deworm it first to preserve its name.

After getting the orchid seedlings, immediately remove the tissue with diseased spots, then spray them with fungicide, dry them in a cool place, and spray them again after drying.

Solution to orchid seedling dehydration: intermittent immersion in nutrient solution

Dehydration of orchid plants and lack of water in the roots can be major reasons, so soaking in nutrient solution is the fastest way. However, it cannot be soaked for a long time at one time, because orchids have fleshy roots and absorb water quickly. If too much water is given at one time, the orchid roots will expand too quickly and will quickly break the root epidermis.

Therefore, you need to soak it intermittently, each time for about one minute, then take it out and let it cool and dry before soaking again. Soak it five or six times in a row.

Solution to orchid seedling dehydration: Turn over and dry the orchid roots

After soaking treatment, the dehydration of the roots and leaves of the orchid seedlings has been basically corrected, and the orchid roots are full of water. Cover the leaves with a shade net and turn the exposed roots over to dry in the sun to promote scab formation on the wounds and activate the vitality of the orchid seedlings.

Solution to orchid seedling dehydration: closed management in pots

After the orchid roots are dry, they should be potted in moisture-rich culture soil.

Then place it in a cool and ventilated place for closed management. Depending on the dryness and wetness of the potting soil, water the roots with diluted nutrient solution 3 to 4 days after potting.

Place the orchid in a closed environment until the seedlings survive, which takes about one to three months, and then switch to normal management.
