Why are the leaves of the peace lily drying up?
Other people's peace jasmine trees keep growing downwards, but yours actually turns around and grows downwards. He always gets angry and has pockmarks all over his face. People say that the peace lily tree can bring peace, but can it really do that when he looks like this?

Reason 1: The leaves of the peace lily dry up

Transplanting in new pots

If the leaves of your peace lily tree droop just a few days after you buy it and yellow spots appear on the leaves, it's not a problem with your care, but that you were ripped off by the store when you bought it. The store has just changed the pot or just planted it, so it needs a certain period of adaptation. The plant experienced two sudden environmental changes during the adaptation process, which resulted in such a reaction. As long as the dryness is not particularly severe, it will slowly recover.

Workaround

When newly planted, it takes a month to acclimate to the pot, a month to adapt to the environment, and basically resume growth after 2 months. Just be patient and wait.

Reason 2 for the drying of peace lily leaves

Soil is alkaline

The peace lily grows best in slightly acidic soil. The soil and water we come into contact with on a daily basis are mostly alkaline. Over time, this will reduce the acidity of the soil and affect the growth of the peace lily, causing the leaves to become weak and dry.

Workaround

When watering the peace lily, you can add a little ferrous sulfate solution to increase the acidity of the soil, but the concentration should not be too high. In addition, when repotting, replace the soil with new one and keep 1/3 of the old soil.

Reason 3 for the drying of peace lily leaves

Frost damage

The money tree is not frost-resistant. When the temperature is too low or the late frost is severe, its leaves will dry up. The main symptoms are that the leaves droop and become dull, gradually drying up from the tip until they fall off.

Workaround

If there is slight frost damage, the leaves of the peace lily will turn yellow, and if there is severe frost damage, they will dry up. There is no way to remedy the frostbitten leaves, so remove them immediately. Move the plant to a relatively warm place, preferably one that is kept warm. In spring, when the temperature rises, the branches will sprout leaves again.

Reason 4 for the drying of peace lily leaves

Root rot

Root rot is caused by many reasons, such as improper watering, improper fertilization, and poorly breathable soil... In fact, root rot is not terrible. What is terrible is that root rot is not discovered in time. In the early stages of root rot, the leaves will lose their luster, turn yellow, gradually develop dry spots, and droop. Eventually the plant will die due to insufficient water supply.

Workaround

In fact, whether you can find root rot depends on luck. A rational flower grower should observe the plants frequently, analyze the causes in time if any abnormalities are found, and take appropriate measures. If you find that the peace lily has root rot, remove it from the pot immediately, cut off the rotten part, disinfect it and replant it. Remove severely dried leaves.

Reason 5 for the drying of peace lily leaves

Blight

Another reason is that the disease caused by the branch dieback of the peace holly tree is the most serious disease that harms the peace holly tree, without a doubt. It is mainly caused by hot and stuffy environment, improper ventilation and fungal infection. The main manifestation is the appearance of large areas of dry branches and leaves on the inner side of the peace lily, and the thin branches are also prone to disease.

Workaround

As soon as possible, cut the branches short 5 cm below the diseased area, and remove all dry leaves (even those with dry spots), spray the branches and leaves and roots with carbendazim solution for 2 to 3 times.
