Common diseases of Daphne koreana and their control

The main disease of Daphne koreana is mosaic disease, the symptoms of which are spots and deformities on the affected leaves, leading to poor flowering and stagnation of plant growth. Once the disease is discovered, the plants need to be dug up and destroyed immediately. In addition, root rot is often prone to occur when the potting soil is too wet or uncomposted organic fertilizer is applied. For the prevention and control of root rot, generally 1000 times diluted 70% thiophanate-methyl or 800 times diluted 50% carbendazim and other fungicides should be sprayed every half a month or so.

Common Pests of Daphne koreana and Their Control

Daphne koreana has strong disease resistance, and may occasionally be harmed by aphids, red spiders, and scale insects, especially in the dry and hot weather in summer. It can be controlled by spraying 1000-1200 times diluted omethoate emulsion, 1200 times diluted 80% DDT, or 0.5 degree Baume lime sulfur mixture.

Because the roots of Daphne koreana have a sweet taste, they easily attract earthworms. The earthworms entangle the roots of Daphne koreana, which in turn affects the normal absorption of water and nutrients by the Daphne koreana plant. Generally, when repotting, you can pay attention to picking out the earthworms hiding in the soil, and it is best not to place the flower pot on the mud to prevent earthworms from drilling into the bottom of the pot.
