Roses love to attract insects. Here are 3 tips for you to help them get rid of the title of “medicine jar”!

If we talk about the flowers that attract insects the most, it should be the rose. The rose blooms for a very long time and has a strong fragrance, so it is inevitable that there will be some small flying insects or diseases during this time. Today, Huahua will give you some tips on how to deal with common rose diseases, so that it can get rid of the title of "medicine jar" from now on!

1. Black rot

Black rot is a common disease of roses, and many roses die from this disease. The symptom of black rot is that some small dark brown spots first appear on the leaves. These spots will gradually grow larger and larger until they spread to the entire rose plant, and finally the rose will begin to lose leaves.

We can prevent black rot of roses in advance. In spring and summer, it is best to spray mancozeb once every half a month, which can reduce the chance of black rot. If it has already appeared, don't panic. First, pick off all the leaves infected with black rot, and then spray them with disinfectant solutions such as carbendazim. If you do this for a week, there will basically be no problem.

2. Powdery mildew

Powdery mildew is also a common disease of roses. The phenomenon of powdery mildew is similar to that of black rot, that is, white powder grows all over the leaves. In severe cases, the entire leaves will be covered. How can the roses that lack photosynthesis grow vigorously?

When powdery mildew first appears on the leaves, it is usually concentrated on the edges and backs, and then slowly spreads to the entire leaf, sometimes even the petals. Powdery mildew usually appears more frequently in spring and autumn. When it appears, we can spray it with the same disinfectant solvent used to treat black rot. However, because powdery mildew sticks to the leaves, we can add some viscous liquids such as detergent to the solution to help remove it.

3. Thrips

Thrips is a pest that causes great damage to roses. Once it appears, the leaves of the roses will slowly shrink and become deformed, and after a long time the growth rate of the roses will also be affected. Thrips usually start to reproduce in spring, and in summer and autumn they will flood the roses and cause a disaster.

In spring, we can spray some cypermethrin in the evening every half a month for prevention. If you find that the leaves are still twisted and shriveled in summer and autumn, you will need to spray cypermethrin for a long time to eliminate them.

Roses are beautiful but you still need to be patient and help them eliminate diseases so that they can bring fragrance to everyone. If you have a better way to repel insects, please leave a message and share it with Huahua!
