How to grow green radish until it overflows the pot?

The green ivy doesn’t require too much care. As long as you can do these 3 things, it can basically grow out of the pot!

1. Where is the best place to place the green radish?

Green ivy is best placed in the living room and study, as these two places generally have good lighting and ventilation.

2. How often should I water my green radish?

Water roughly once every 3-4 days. The situation of each pot of green radish is different. Flower lovers should use the frequency mentioned by Huahua as a reference and determine the frequency of watering based on actual conditions.

3. Does green radish need fertilizer?

If you want the green radish to grow well, fertilization is necessary. It is enough to water it with decomposed rice water once every half a month. Put the rice water in a bottle and expose it to the sun for half a month until it becomes decomposed.

What should I do if the leaves of green radish turn yellow?

Although it is easy to grow green ivy, many flower lovers were too careless in the early stages, which resulted in some problems with the green ivy in their homes. The most common one is yellow leaves. What should they do in this case?

1. Yellowing due to lack of water

Symptoms: The edges of the leaves turn yellow and dry, and the old leaves gradually fall off.

Solution: Water the green radish as soon as possible.

2. Excessive watering and yellowing:

Symptoms: The leaves are dull and dark yellow, and the new leaves shrink and do not grow.

Solution: Stop watering immediately, place the green radish in a ventilated place, loosen the soil, and disperse the moisture in the soil as soon as possible.

3. Yellowing due to excessive light:

Symptoms: Obvious sun spots and burn marks appear on the leaves.

Solution: Move the green radish indoors as soon as possible and place it in a place with scattered light.

4. Yellowing due to long-term shade:

Symptoms: New leaves are tender yellow, and old leaves are normal.

Solution: Move to a bright place indoors as soon as possible and ensure ventilation.

5. Excessive fertilization leads to yellow leaves:

Symptoms: The leaves are thick but not shiny, and the old leaves turn yellow and fall off.

Solution: Replace the potting soil as soon as possible and reduce the number of fertilization times.

6. Insufficient fertilization leads to yellow leaves:

Symptoms: The leaves become thinner and the color transitions from light green to yellow. The leaves at the base turn yellow first, while the leaves at the top remain green.

Solution: Water the green radish with decomposed rice water or organic liquid fertilizer.

What should I do if the roots of my green radish rot?

If the green ivy has large areas of yellow leaves, lodging, or wilting, it is very likely that the roots have rotted and must be treated promptly.

1. Take the green radish out of the pot and clean the soil around the roots.

2. Cut off all the rotten and blackened parts.

3. Prune the roots, cut off the old roots that have turned black, the tangled roots, the overly dense roots and the overly long roots, and keep the fresh, white and tender roots.

4. Cut off some of the lush branches and leaves to reduce nutrient consumption and allow the green ivy to recover as soon as possible.

5. After pruning the green radish, soak the roots in a solution of carbendazim for disinfection.

6. Mix leaf mold and perlite in a ratio of 4:1 and prepare them after exposure to the sun.

7. Replant the root-pruned green radish into the flowerpot. Note that it is best not to water it first. Wait two days before watering it again. This can promote root growth and reduce the possibility of root rot again.

8. The newly potted green ivy may have some yellow leaves. This is normal because the root system has not yet recovered. It will be fine after a few days. After the green radish grows new leaves, you can water and fertilize it normally.

How can one pot of green radish become many pots?

Pothos is a flower with a very high survival rate of cuttings. If flower lovers want to harvest more pots of Pothos, they can use the following method to turn one pot of Pothos into multiple pots.

1. Select healthy, semi-lignified branches from the green radish, cut about 7-10 cm, preferably with leaves.

2. Cut the part of the green radish cut with scissors into a 45-degree angle and dip it in rooting powder.

3. Find a plastic bottle filled with water, insert the green ivy into it, and make sure the water covers 1/3 of the green ivy branches.

4. Depending on the maintenance environment, the time it takes for the green radish to take root will also vary, but it will take about half a month to grow roots. After growing roots, the green radish can continue to be placed in water for hydroponics, or it can be moved into the soil.

How to shape the green radish?

Some experts grow green ivy to climb all over the walls and use it as curtains and door curtains. In fact, the trick is very simple. If flower lovers are interested, they can give it a try.

1. Grow into curtains: Plant a small green ivy seedling in a rectangular flower bed about 10 cm apart, then raise the flower bed and hang it on the door frame or window frame. When the green ivy grows, it will hang down to form door curtains.

2. Grow a green ivy wall: prepare potted green ivy, thin ropes and hooks. When the branches of the green ivy grow longer, stick the hooks to the wall and tie the green ivy to the hooks with thin ropes. The green ivy will then grow on the wall in the direction you want!
