How to deal with aphids on bougainvillea

How to deal with aphids on bougainvillea

1. Principles to be followed in pest control

We all know that if pesticides are used, it will be harmful to the human body. Moreover, it will cause some harm to the plants to a greater or lesser extent. So, under normal circumstances, we try not to use these drugs, and it is best to adopt green methods. Only use it when the quantity is too large and you have no choice.

2. Dealing with different situations

(1) When the number is small: In this case, there is no need for pesticides at all, and your bare hands can do the job. If the pests happen to be concentrated on certain branches, you can simply cut them off. If they are scattered, brush them off with a small brush. However, it should be noted that it is best to cut off the branches that the insects have climbed to avoid infection. This method is more environmentally friendly, but it is not applicable sometimes.

(2) When the number is large: If the infestation is not too serious, you can use insecticide that you make yourself. Specifically, soak the tobacco in water and add some detergent. Soak it for a day, then spray it on the aphids. You can also soak cigarette butts in hot water. Once it's ready, use it to spray insects. In this way, good effects can be achieved without any harm.

(3) When the quantity is very large: If the quantity is too large, then homemade ones will not be effective enough. At this time, only insecticide can be used. However, it should be noted that if only one type is used, insects will easily develop resistance. Therefore, it is best to use two or three alternately.
