What to do if gardenia has scale insects

What to do if gardenia has scale insects

1. Introduction to pests

It mainly harms branches and leaves, causing the leaves to turn yellow and wither. It can also cause other diseases and weaken the plant. It occurs more frequently after April.

2. Manual method

This is relative to the situation where there are very few insects. In this case, there is no need for medication. Specifically, you can use a brush to brush off all the bugs. Then, cut off all branches that have been infested with insects and dispose of diseased leaves. Don't throw them around, collect them and dispose of them properly. However, if the amount is really too large, then it can only be treated with medication.

3. Drug method

(1) Liquor: Add liquor to water in a ratio of about 1:2. Then, pour water over the surface of the soil, watering it thoroughly. Do it once every two weeks or so, for four times in a row.

(2) Vinegar: Take about 50 ml of vinegar, soak a cotton ball in it, and use it to wipe the branches and leaves that are infested with insects. In this way, the insects can be eliminated. Doing so will not only effectively kill the insects, but also make the leaves of the plant appear more shiny without causing any harm. Therefore, we recommend this method.

(3) Alcohol: Like the previous method, it is also used to wipe the plants. This method is also more thorough and can also remove some pests and germs that we cannot see with our eyes.

(4) Mixing: Mix diesel, laundry detergent and water in a ratio of 10:0.6:0.6. Then, dilute it with water and you can spray it. After a week, the bugs will become shrunken and dead.

<<:  Just sprinkle some ash, all the bugs will die, and the flowers will grow wildly and burst out of the pot!
