How to raise the newly bought Ji Qiuli

How to raise the newly bought Ji Qiuli

1. How to cultivate the newly bought Ji Qiuli

Ji Qiuli likes a cool and dry environment. When you first buy it, you can place it in a well-ventilated environment with a temperature of about 15℃-25℃ for maintenance. This will help it adapt to the new environment as quickly as possible. Stop fertilizing temporarily. Do not water the plant in the first 3-5 days after purchase. After that, you can water it once every 10 days or so to avoid affecting the root breathing due to excessive watering. Before resuming its normal growth rate, place it in a place with sufficient soft light for maintenance.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Soil: Ji Qiuli is suitable for cultivation in sandy soil with good drainage and air permeability, which can allow excess water to be discharged and is conducive to the growth of the plant roots. The culture soil can be prepared by mixing peat with granular pumice or river sand, and mixing pine needle soil, vermiculite, leaf mold and sand in a ratio of 1:1:1:1.

2. Temperature: Ji Qiuli likes a cool environment and is not resistant to high temperatures or cold. When you first buy it, it is best to place it in an environment with a temperature of about 15℃-25℃ for maintenance. In winter, insulation measures need to be taken in advance. It will stop growing or suffer mild frostbite when the temperature is below 5℃. The water in the leaves will freeze and the cells will necrotize when the temperature is 0℃ or below. In summer, when the temperature is higher than 35℃, the plants stop growing, so during the high temperature period in summer, you need to pay attention to ventilation and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun to avoid sunburn.

3. Watering: The genus Eupatorium is not tolerant to waterlogging and is prone to rot in an overly humid environment. So when you just buy it, don't water it for the first 3-5 days. If you feel the plant is dry during these days, you can spray it with water appropriately. During the acclimatization period, water the plant once every 10 days or so. During the high temperature period in summer, the plant is in a dormant state and needs to be cut off from water. At other times, if the leaves are not full, you can water them appropriately, otherwise no watering is needed.

4. Light: Ji Qiuli needs sufficient light during its normal growth period. When you first buy it, in order to avoid damage to the leaves of the plant, you need to place it in a place with sufficient soft light for maintenance. Under normal circumstances, the more abundant the light and the greater the temperature difference between day and night, the brighter and more lustrous the color of the plant's leaves will be. If the temperature permits, it can be placed outdoors for maintenance to ensure sufficient light.

5. Fertilization: Ji Qiuli needs sufficient nutrients during its growth period. No fertilizer is needed when it is just bought. Once it has returned to its normal growth state, you can choose fertilizer with a balanced nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium elements, apply small amounts of fertilizer frequently, and do not apply large amounts of fertilizer to prevent root burn and rot. Fertilization is generally not required in winter.
