Pest control of asparagus fern

Pest control of asparagus fern

Scale insects

Introduction: This is a very common pest. There are more than 6,000 species in the world. There are more than 650 species recorded in my country, of which 160 are agricultural pests. It occurs most frequently in spring.

Main harm: They often live in groups on branches, leaves or fruits, sucking plant sap to sustain life. If there are too many of them, the leaves may all wither, the fruits may shrink, and in severe cases, the entire plant may die.

Prevention and control methods: First, you can use manual prevention methods. This method is suitable for situations where there are not many pests and not many damaged branches and leaves. You can directly brush off the pests with a soft brush, or cut off the branches with pests. If the number is very large, we can spray pesticides for prevention and control, such as 40% omethoate, one thousand times the dosage, once every week or so, for a total of two to three times.

aphid

Introduction: It is also called "honey bug" and lives in groups on the leaves, stems, flower buds, terminal buds, etc. of the plant. It also occurs most frequently in spring.

Harm: Like the previous pest, they also suck sap, causing the plants to shrink and become deformed. In severe cases, the branches and leaves will completely wither and the plants will die. In addition, the substances secreted by this insect can also induce other diseases.

Prevention and control methods: To deal with this pest, we usually spray liquid medicine, such as one thousand five hundred to two thousand times the concentration of imidacloprid, which is very effective.
