1. How to cultivate the newly bought Euphorbia

Although the Euphorbia tridentata cannot be placed directly under strong light for maintenance when it is just brought back, when it is maintained under soft light, the position of the potted plant needs to be changed so that the plant can receive light from all directions. It is suitable for growing in a warm and dry environment. The temperature should be kept at around 23℃. It is better to water it dry rather than wet. Do not apply fertilizer for the time being to avoid root burn and damage to the plant.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Light: When you first buy it, there will be an adaptation period. During this stage, you need to place it in a place with soft light for maintenance. Under normal growth conditions, it cannot be kept indoors for a long time and needs to be placed outdoors frequently to receive sufficient light. In winter, the plant will enter a dormant state, but it will also carry out normal photosynthesis, so it must also receive sufficient light. Appropriate shading is needed in summer to prevent the leaves of the plant from being burned.

2. Watering: It is relatively drought-resistant, so when watering, adhere to the principle of "better dry than wet". Excessive watering can easily cause the roots to suffocate and die. When you first buy it, water it moderately, once a week on average. Under normal circumstances, you should water the plant when you see the soil in the pot turn white and hear a crisp sound when you knock on the wall of the pot. Make sure to water the plant thoroughly each time. The frequency of watering needs to be reduced in winter. When the room temperature is 15℃-18℃, it is sufficient to water thoroughly once every 10 days or so.

3. Temperature: It likes warmth and cannot tolerate cold. The optimum growth temperature is 22℃-28℃. When the temperature exceeds 30℃, it is not conducive to its growth. When the temperature is above 35℃, it will enter a dormant period. When you first buy it, it is best to keep it in an environment with a temperature of around 23°C. In winter, the temperature must be kept at least above 7°C to ensure safe wintering.

4. Fertilization: It does not like fertilizer very much. The principle of fertilization is to prefer less rather than more, and to prefer light rather than strong. No fertilizer is needed when you first buy it. During the growing season, you can apply about 15% fully decomposed alum fertilizer water once a month. When applying fertilizer, avoid using raw fertilizer or concentrated fertilizer, otherwise it will easily lead to root rot and leaf fall. Stop fertilizing during the winter dormancy, and then gradually apply fertilizer when the plant starts growing again in the spring of next year.

3. Repotting

It is not recommended to repot the Euphorbia tridentata when it is just bought, but it can be repotted once in the spring every year. The best time to repot is between Qingming and Guyu.
