When to transplant cherry trees

When to transplant cherry trees

Cherry is a fruit that many people like to eat. It has bright color, red like agate, crystal clear and beautiful, and rich in vitamins. It has a large consumer market. The best season to transplant cherry trees is spring.

Cherry tree transplanting time

Cherry trees are suitable for transplanting in spring and autumn, specifically in early March or early October. Transplanting in spring has more advantages than transplanting in autumn, because cherry trees planted in autumn experience low temperature damage during the winter, and the frozen trees are prone to dead branches. Transplanting in spring has more advantages, with good nutrient storage, and they can quickly take root and sprout in the new environment after transplanting.

How to transplant a cherry tree

1. Choose the soil

Before transplanting the cherry tree, you need to choose suitable soil. Its root system requires the soil to have sufficient air permeability, so you need to choose a plot with relatively loose soil. This will ensure that the soil has good air permeability and water can fully penetrate, thus ensuring that the roots of the cherry tree can grow normally.

2. Transplanting method

When transplanting cherry trees, you can loosen the soil, apply an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer, fill and compact the soil. When digging up cherry trees, try to bring as many roots as possible, especially large roots. The upper branches should be heavily pruned, reducing the total branch volume by one-third, and then transplanted to new soil.

Cherry tree transplanting care

After transplanting the cherry tree, water it thoroughly and keep the soil slightly moist. This can increase the survival rate. It should also be kept in a bright place and provide a certain amount of light. Note that no fertilizer is needed at this time, otherwise fertilizer damage will occur and burn the roots.
