Diseases and Pests of Shrimp Flower and Their Control

Because the shrimp flower has strong resistance, it has fewer diseases and pests. During the cultivation process, special attention should be paid to preventing and controlling damage caused by red spider mites and scale insects.

Red spider control

As for the prevention and control method of red spider mites, you can use citrus peels with about ten times the amount of water and soak them for about a day. After filtering, spray the filtrate on the plants. You can also add wood ash and water in a suitable proportion, stir thoroughly, soak for about two days and then filter it. Then add about three grams of laundry detergent, stir evenly and spray it. Spray it once a day for three consecutive days, and then spray it for three more days after a week. You can also put a plate of lit mosquito coils in the pot of the diseased plant, tie the pot tightly with a plastic bag, and fumigate for about an hour, which can effectively kill the adult insects and eggs.

Scale insect control

You can mix white wine and water in a ratio of 1:2, and then pour it thoroughly on the surface of the potting soil. You can also use about 50 ml of vinegar, soak a small cotton ball, and then gently wipe the affected area with the wet cotton ball to effectively kill scale insects. This method is easy and safe to operate and can effectively eliminate insects and restore green color to the damaged leaves. Of course, you can also use alcohol to gently wipe the diseased branches repeatedly, which can also completely kill the scale insects, and scale insect damage will rarely be found in the second year.
