Lemon Pests and Their Control

Lemon Pests and Their Control

Mites (red and yellow spiders, rust mites)

It causes great harm to the leaves, causing them to lose their luster and turn grayish white, while also causing leaf fall and tip dieback. Yellow spider mites can cause leaves to become distorted and deformed. Rust mites cause the backs of leaves to turn rusty brown or yellowish brown, and the affected fruits to turn dark brown.

Prevention and treatment methods

(1) Spray once in early spring or apply lime sulfur mixture on the main stem.

(2) Spray 1000-1500 times diluted Echinochloa mite or 2000-3000 times diluted 73% Prochloraz. Control the central insect strain first, then carry out large-scale prevention and control.

Leafminer

The larvae will feed on tender branches and leaves as well as under the skin of fruits, creating white tunnels that cause the leaves to curl, become brittle and then fall off, making the affected fruits susceptible to rot.

Prevention and treatment methods

(1) Control summer and autumn shoots, remove premature or late and excess shoots, and cut off their food chain.

(2) Focus on prevention and control during the vigorous growth of summer shoots and autumn shoots. It is best to use pesticides alternately to obtain better efficacy. Spray for the first time when the growth rate reaches more than 20%. You can use chondroitin, 1500-2000 times diluted cypermethrin, and 20% mesotrione.
