How to grow peonies in autumn

How to grow peonies in autumn

1. Adjust the temperature

When autumn just begins, the temperature drops quickly and the peony may not be able to adapt, resulting in some growth problems. At this time, you can move it indoors and let the temperature slowly drop to give the plant an adaptation process, so that growth problems will not easily occur. In addition, the temperature in autumn in some areas is very low, which is not suitable for plant growth. At this time, it is also necessary to move it indoors to keep warm and prevent freezing.

2. Appropriate amount of water and fertilizer

In autumn, the plants still grow, but not as vigorously as in spring. Therefore, it is necessary to apply some water and fertilizer to it appropriately, but not excessively. Specifically, water once every 7-10 days. Before watering, check the condition of the soil surface and wait until it is completely dry before watering. Apply a thin layer of fertilizer once a month and apply an additional fertilizer before winter to help it overwinter.

3. Sowing

Autumn is the best time to sow it. For friends who have already collected the seeds, it is best to sow them at this time. First prepare some flower soil with high nutrient content and good air permeability, and disinfect it. Then dig some small holes 3-4cm deep on the soil surface and bury the seeds in them. Then water it in time, keep the soil slightly moist, and wait for it to sprout.
