Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of Algae Bell Jade

Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of Algae Bell Jade

1. Temperature is too low

Reason: Algae bell jade likes to grow in a warm environment. If the temperature in the growing environment is below ten degrees, the plant will likely stop growing, and the leaf growth will be hindered, resulting in yellow leaves.

Solution: Move the plant to a warm room immediately for maintenance and wait for the plant's growth to return to normal. During daily maintenance, the growth temperature of the algae bell jade must be maintained between 18℃-24℃. The minimum temperature cannot be lower than 10℃, otherwise the plants will be frozen and stop growing. It is best not to grow them outdoors.

2. Overwatering

Reason: It is a type of succulent plant. Most problems with succulents are caused by overwatering, so do not water them too much. If you water too much, the roots of the plant will easily rot, leading to problems such as root rot and yellow leaves.

Solution: If you water too much, place the plant in a vent to allow excess water to evaporate quickly. If the plant is kept in wet soil for a long time, root rot may occur. You need to remove the plant from the pot in time, cut off the rotten roots and disinfect it. After the soil is dry, you can replant and maintain it.

3. Insufficient light

Reason: Algae bell jade is not shade-tolerant and has a high demand for light. If there is insufficient light, photosynthesis cannot be fully carried out and the leaves will turn yellow and lose their luster.

Solution: Move it to a sunny place and provide additional light. During the cultivation process, try to place the potted plants in an environment with sufficient light. Avoid direct sunlight in summer and place the plant in semi-shade, receiving scattered light in the morning and evening. It can receive full sun in other seasons.

4. Disease problems

Reason: Algae bell jade can develop soft rot, which can cause the branches and leaves of the plant to become soft until they completely turn yellow and wither.

Treatment: At this time, you can spray carbendazim solution for treatment. Timely treatment is required to prevent the situation from worsening and causing the death of the plant.
