Common types of pine bonsai

Common types of pine bonsai

Jungle style (for Podocarpus):

Its shape is just like its name. It is not a bonsai consisting of a single pine tree, but multiple trees together, like a whole forest, with a special sense of layering.

Slanted dry type:

That is, the trunk is slanted, and the branches of the tree are on the outside of the pot, like a slanted mountain.

Horizontal trunk type (applicable to cypress and podocarpus):

There are three types of lying dry positions: semi-lying, supine, and horizontal. Each type has a different feeling.

Cliff Style (for cypress):

There are two types of cliff style, one is the large cliff style, the other is the semi-cliff style; but the cliff style is that the trunk hangs outside the pot, and the branches grow in a drooping manner, but the drooping height cannot be lower than the top edge of the pot.

Root lifting:

Some friends may not understand this. In fact, it just exposes the roots of the tree outside. However, the root-lifting style has a more noble and elegant feeling. Many people prefer this style.

Split dry type:

The split trunk style takes many years to form naturally, and then people do the pruning. This is also the rarest type, and it looks very simple and vigorous. So many bonsai enthusiasts hope to find such a pine tree deep in the forest.

Epiphytic:

This type is a little bit similar to the split trunk type in that both have dead wood, but it only leaves a part for branches to cling to and survive.
