Do white palms need pruning?

Anthurium needs to be pruned, and there are generally three situations for pruning.

Leaf cutting

Sometimes the leaves of white calla lily need to be pruned, because as it grows, the leaves will become very lush and need to be pruned in time. In addition, pruning is needed to inhibit the growth of plants and reduce nutrient consumption.

When pruning, you can use scissors or your fingers to directly remove the growth points on the tender shoots. If you want to reduce nutrient consumption, you can cut off the adventitious buds before they mature. After the branches are pruned short, new shoots will not grow for a long time.

Root Pruning

Sometimes the roots of white anthuriums need to be pruned. The main thing is to cut off some old roots and roots that have grown too long during pruning. After pruning the roots, replace the soil with new soil and replant. Root pruning can be combined with repotting.

Cut flowers

Flower pruning mainly involves trimming the flower stems. Do this after the anthurium has bloomed. Be careful not to cut the flower stems directly, only cut the flowering part. The remaining flower stems will turn yellow and fall off naturally. If you accidentally cut off the flower stem, be careful not to get it wet before the wound dries. Basically, there won't be any major problems.

Tips for pruning white palm

When pruning Anthurium, you should pay attention to the issue of toxicity. Anthurium is indeed a poisonous plant. The poisonous part is mainly its juice, so be careful not to eat it by mistake. When pruning, be careful not to have too close contact with the juice part. You can wear gloves when pruning or wash your hands in time after pruning.
