What to do if the leaves of Clivia turn yellow

1. Loose soil and drain water

Cause: The Clivia is watered too many times, with too much water or is exposed to rain for a long time. The excess water in the pot cannot be drained, causing water accumulation. Its roots cannot breathe and move normally and will rot, causing the leaves to turn yellow.

Treatment method: Stop watering immediately and loosen the soil to increase the oxygen content in the cultivation soil so that its roots can breathe normally. It should be kept away from rain and the amount of water should be controlled.

2. Shade and watering

Reason: It cannot be exposed to high temperatures and scorching sun for a long time, especially in the summer when the sun is strong. The strong light will destroy the green color in the leaves, causing the leaves to turn yellow or even become burnt.

Treatment method: Move the potted plants to a cool and ventilated place, and provide appropriate shade to avoid direct sunlight. Use a spray bottle to spray some water around the plant to lower the cultivation temperature.

3. Watering and soil replacement

Reason: Its root system is fleshy. If you give it a large amount of fertilizer or use raw fertilizer, it will easily rot. After the roots rot, the leaves will turn yellow or even die.

Treatment: Water the soil to dilute the fertilizer and make it easier to drain. Alternatively, you can pour out the plant, rinse the roots, and then plant it in new soil.
