What to do if the leaves of lucky bamboo grow in water turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of lucky bamboo grow in water turn yellow

1. Prune yellow leaves

It is normal for the leaves at the bottom to turn yellow if the number of leaves is not particularly large. Just remove the yellow leaves. If there are many yellow leaves, there may be problems with the maintenance environment or the plant itself.

2. Trim the bottom leaves

When buying new lucky bamboo, it is recommended to remove the old leaves at the bottom and only keep some leaves on the top. If there are too many leaves left on the plant, it will slowly turn yellow. Then, if there is no root at the bottom of the lucky bamboo, cut it at a 45-degree angle with a sharp knife and place it in a vase with water. Be sure not to use scissors at this time, otherwise the stems of the lucky bamboo will be squeezed and damaged, and rot will occur.

3. Change water appropriately

It is not recommended to fill the vase with water. Generally, a water depth of 5-6 cm is enough to meet the needs of lucky bamboo. If the water is too full, it will cause the leaves to turn yellow. Before rooting, do not change the water or change the maintenance location frequently. Some people like to put a few iron nails inside the lucky bamboo to supplement it with iron. They must be put in after it takes root. In addition, minimum temperature requirements must be met in winter when breeding in the north.
