What to do if the leaves of melon and chestnut turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of melon and chestnut turn yellow

1. Reasonable watering

Reason: Chestnut is a potted plant. If you water it too much or too frequently, the leaves will turn yellow. Too wet soil in the pot will cause lack of oxygen. Once lack of oxygen occurs, its roots will rot. If it cannot breathe, it will be difficult and the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Control the amount of watering. It is best to wait until the yellow leaves recover before watering. If you cannot control the amount of watering well, you can use spraying. Although you need to reduce the amount of watering, you cannot go without watering for a long time. You must water reasonably.

2. Appropriate amount of light

Reason: Chestnuts like sunlight, but they cannot be exposed to sunlight for a long time. Direct sunlight will cause the leaves to turn yellow. If it is placed in a dark place for a long time, it will not be able to carry out photosynthesis normally, which will also cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Allow the plant to receive an appropriate amount of sunlight in spring and autumn, but take shading measures when the sunlight is strong in summer, or move it to a place with scattered light. It can be exposed to direct sunlight in winter.

3. Scientific fertilization

Reason: If you apply too much fertilizer or unrotted fertilizer, it will burn its roots, causing the leaves to turn yellow and fall off.

Solution: During the growth period of chestnuts, scientific fertilizer should be applied. Thin fertilizer can be applied every 20 days. In addition, some fully decomposed base fertilizer can be applied when repotting. Only by scientific fertilization can it grow more luxuriantly.

4. Adjust the temperature

Reason: If the temperature is low in winter, frost damage will occur, causing the leaves to turn yellow or fall off, and in severe cases, the plant will die.

Solution: Provide it with a growing environment of 20-30℃, and the minimum temperature should not be lower than 5℃. If the temperature is low, you can cover it with a film or plastic bag, which can play a certain role in keeping out the cold and keeping warm.
