What to do if the leaves of bougainvillea turn yellow

1. Adjust watering method

(1) Specific reasons: Too much or too little water is not good. In short, unscientific watering methods can easily cause yellowing of leaves.

(2) Solution: Adjust the watering method. In spring and autumn, water once a day; in summer, water twice a day, in the morning and evening; during winter dormancy, control watering and just keep it slightly moist.

2. Increase the lighting time

(1) Specific reasons: Bougainvillea is a sun-loving plant. If the light is too weak, the leaves will easily turn yellow and the growth will be weak.

(2) Solution: Except for placing it in a semi-shaded place when it is just transplanted, it is best to expose it to sunlight at other times. In winter, it should be at least eight hours, but in summer, when it is too strong, shade is needed.

3. Change the soil

(1) Specific reasons: The soil has poor drainage, and water cannot be drained away, which easily causes the leaves to turn yellow.

(2) Solution: Use soil with good drainage, for example, humus soil, garden soil and sand in a ratio of 4:4:2.

4. Stop fertilizing

(1) Specific reasons: Too much fertilizer or applying raw fertilizer will cause fertilizer damage and make the leaves turn yellow.

(2) Solution: Stop fertilizing for a while. Do not use raw fertilizer or concentrated fertilizer, and do not apply too much fertilizer at one time.

5. Spray carbendazim

(1) Specific reasons: "Leaf spot disease" can easily affect plants and cause the leaves to turn yellow.

(2) Solution: Cut off the branches with the most diseased branches directly. Then, spray carbendazim once every week to ten days, for a total of three or four times. If the condition is very serious, the interval can be adjusted to four days.
