What to do if lemon leaves turn yellow

What to do if lemon leaves turn yellow

1. Supplement iron or nitrogen

(1) Specific reasons: Deficiency of both elements may cause leaves to turn yellow, but the location of the leaves is different. If it lacks iron, the leaf flesh will turn yellow; if it lacks nitrogen, its leaf veins will turn yellow. Therefore, it is possible to determine which element to supplement based on different symptoms.

(2) Solution: Observe the yellowing parts of the leaves and supplement the corresponding elements accordingly.

2. Add fertilizer

(1) Specific reasons: This situation is more common during flowering. At this time, a lot of nutrients are needed. If you don’t pay attention to supplementing them, it is likely to cause the leaves to turn yellow.

(2) Solution: Some fertilizer needs to be sprayed, such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution. It not only contains basic elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, but also some trace elements. Just spray it on the leaves once every half a month.

3. Deal with root rot

(1) Specific reasons: Root rot may also cause the leaves to turn yellow. The most likely causes of root rot are too much standing water or too concentrated fertilizer.

(2) Solution: Scrape off the rotten part and a small part around it with a knife, and apply some thiophanate-methyl. Wait until the incision has completely healed before covering it with soil. After that, you need to be careful not to water too much and not to apply fertilizer with too high concentration.

4. Pest control

(1) Specific reasons: After being infested by insects, the leaves may also be harmed and turn yellow.

(2) Solution: If the number is small, manual de-insectization can be carried out. If the number is large, spray the corresponding medicine.
