What to do if the leaves of Chlorophytum turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of Chlorophytum turn yellow

1. Scientific watering

Reason: If you don’t water the plant enough or forget to water it for a long time, the spider plant will lack water and turn yellow. In addition, if you water too much for a long time, a large amount of water will accumulate in the soil, which will soak the roots of the plant, affect the rate at which the plant absorbs nutrients, and cause some leaves to turn yellow due to lack of nutrients.

Solution: Water the spider plant scientifically. Do not water it when the soil is still wet. Wait until the soil becomes dry before watering it. Do not water it too much at one time. If you water it too little on a normal day, water it more to help it recover. If you water it too much on a normal day, raise the bottom of the flowerpot to allow the water to evaporate faster.

2. Scientific light reception

Reason: Because spider plants are very attractive, they cannot be exposed to strong sunlight for a long time, otherwise their leaves are likely to be sunburned and yellow spots will appear. In addition, although it likes shade, it cannot be deprived of all light, otherwise its photosynthesis will not be able to proceed normally, the rate of synthesizing chlorophyll will be reduced, and the leaves will look yellow.

Solution: Let the spider plant receive light scientifically. When the light is too strong in the summer, provide appropriate shade; when the light is insufficient in the winter, move it to the south balcony. If it is sunburned by strong sunlight, put it in a cool place and slowly maintain it. If it lacks light, put it in a bright sunny place.

3. Scientific fertilizer

Reason: If the spider plant is not fertilized for a long time, it will turn yellow due to lack of nutrients. In addition, if too much fertilizer is applied to the spider plant, it will not be able to absorb so much fertilizer. The excess fertilizer will remain in the soil and cause damage to the plant's roots, causing the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Fertilize the spider plant scientifically, neither too much nor too little. If you apply too little fertilizer, you need to apply some fertilizer for it, and apply it in small amounts frequently. If you apply too much fertilizer, use clean water to wash away the excess fertilizer.
