What to do if the leaves of the potted rainbow arrowroot turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of the potted rainbow arrowroot turn yellow

Reasons for yellowing leaves:

illumination:

It is a plant that particularly likes low light and semi-shade. It is not suitable for exposure to the sun. If the light is too strong, it will cause its leaves to turn yellow and burn the leaf surface.

humidity:

Humidity is very important for it. If it does not meet its needs, you will find spots on its leaves.

Watering:

Do not allow water to accumulate, as this will cause root rot. If there is not enough water, the roots will become dry, causing the leaves to change color due to a lack of water absorption.

Solution:

soil:

You should choose a well-drained, fertile, loose, slightly acidic leaf mold or culture soil. The potting soil can be made of humus, compost and one-third of river sand or sawdust.

Ambient temperature:

Rainbow arrowroot likes warm weather and semi-shade is best, because it can grow well in dark places, but in order to prevent it from being affected by diseases and insects, we still need to expose it to the sun. Never keep it under the sun all the time. In summer and autumn, you need to use shading methods to help them protect against the sun. In winter, there is no problem. The most suitable temperature is between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. Especially in winter, the temperature must be controlled above 15°C, because it will stop growing if it is below 10°C.

Watering and fertilizing:

Summer and autumn are relatively drier seasons, so you need to replenish water appropriately and keep the bottom of the pot moist. In addition to watering every day, you should also spray water on the ground to keep the indoor humidity between 85% and 90%. In winter, you need to control watering because the weather is cold and the humidity is heavy. Watering at this time will cause the bottom of the pot to be too moist and cause root rot. During its growth period, we need to fertilize once a week, and you can use diluted cake fertilizer water, except in winter, because we don't need to fertilize in winter.
