How to keep succulents in good condition

In my personal opinion, succulents are much easier to grow than ordinary flowering plants, and basically they do not require too much time to manage.

It's just that it's a bit troublesome in the early stage of planting. After the succulents are planted, they are placed on the terrace and left alone. They will soon adapt to the pot and enter the growth period. So how should we maintain the succulents after they enter the growth period to make them in good condition?

Experience 1: Light and moisture

To grow succulents at home, you just need to put them on the windowsill. Balconies are divided into open-air and enclosed balconies. Most balconies are enclosed. No matter which type of balcony it is, succulents must get more sun .

The growth of succulents cannot be separated from light. If there is sufficient light, the leaves of succulents will grow very thick. They can be exposed to the sun all year round, except in the hot summer, when long-term exposure to the sun will cause "burns".

Therefore, you must be prepared to protect yourself from the sun in the summer. Lack of light is not allowed. If the light conditions are weak, the leaves will not grow well and will become very thin.

Regarding water, I want to say that succulents can withstand drought, but they are afraid of waterlogging. Do not water too much or too frequently, as this is bad for the root system of succulents. It is better to water less than too much, as overwatering will inevitably cause root rot .

Experience 2: Touch the leaves with your hands

Many flower lovers have a pot of succulents at home. Seeing the cute appearance of succulents at home, they can't wait to touch the leaves every minute and every second, because out of love, they are more unscrupulous.

But do you know that frequent touching of the leaves can cause great damage to succulents? There is a protective layer around the leaves, and the leaves of different plants have different protective layers.

If you touch the leaves frequently for a long time, the protective layer will disappear, which is equivalent to the leaves of the succulent being naked!

If succulents lack this protective film, the sun's ultraviolet rays will directly shine on the leaves, easily causing yellow spots on the leaves. This thin layer of white frost on the surface actually protects the leaves. It is easy to rub off the white frost if you touch it with your hands.

Experience 3: Ventilation

In the spring in the south, it will cause annoying southerly weather.

Because the moisture content in the air is too high and there is no wind to blow the air, it is easy to cause air accumulation. Poor air circulation will cause insufficient nutrients. Therefore, no matter what season it is, you must ventilate at any time and observe the status of succulents in time.

Experience 4: Fertilization

Should succulents be fertilized? Some succulents have grown into old piles, so they can be fertilized. If they are seedlings, the succulents are very small, so it is not recommended to fertilize them.

Fertilizer has become a common problem in growing green plants. Fertilizer is beneficial if used correctly, but it is poison if used incorrectly and can easily kill succulents.

Succulents do not have any special requirements for fertilizers, so ordinary fertilizers can be used. When using fertilizers, apply less fertilizer and increase the amount appropriately as the succulents grow.
