What to do if moss turns yellow

What to do if moss turns yellow

Causes and treatments of yellowing moss

1. The environment is too dry and the air humidity is not enough

Treatment method: Remember to water the plant every day. You can use spray to increase the surrounding air humidity. It is better if the water quality is slightly acidic. You can add a few drops of white vinegar to simulate a rainy environment. You can use the method of keeping it in a sealed environment. Cover it with plastic film after watering during the day to reduce water evaporation. In dry areas, the moss must be kept in a sealed environment in order to survive. Proper ventilation is also required at night.

2. Exposure to the sun or placing the moss plants in a cool and dark place for a long time does not meet the light needs of moss growth.

Treatment method: Moss plants do not require high light levels and should be strictly avoided from direct exposure to the sun and strong sunlight. They also cannot be kept in complete shade for a long time. During the maintenance process, appropriate astigmatism is sufficient.

3. The soil medium is not suitable for the growth of moss plants

When digging moss from the wild, it is best to retain 3-5 cm of soil. Before planting, fill the bottom layer with sand and gravel, and then spray a small amount of water to make the roots and soil fit tightly. When planting, it must be compacted gently to reduce the soil gaps as much as possible to avoid a poor growth environment due to poor fit between the soil and the roots.

Moss plants prefer slightly acidic soil, and generally choose peat soil mixed with sand and gravel to ensure the air permeability of the moss. Add some sphagnum moss or leaf mold to provide nutrients. You can choose to let it roam free or keep it in a closed environment according to the environment and personal situation.
