How to cultivate Brazilian wood

Brazilian wood growth conditions

The rubber tree is a famous new generation of indoor foliage plants. It has a beautiful and regular shape, is relatively shade-tolerant, and prefers a high temperature environment. If the temperature is below 13 degrees, it will stop growing and go dormant. It likes loose, well-drained soil and can be potted in leaf mold or peat soil.

How to grow Brazilian wood

The rubber tree is suitable for planting in loose, well-drained and fertile sandy river soil, which is conducive to the development of the roots. If it is grown in water, some nutrient solution should be injected into the water from time to time. Generally, an acidic nutrient solution containing nitrate nitrogen is chosen, which can promote the absorption of nutrients by the roots and stems and promote its growth needs.

Watering the Brazilian tree

The rubber tree needs to be provided with sufficient water during its growth period. Generally, it is sufficient to water it once every 3-4 days. Keep the soil under the roots moist without dripping. Remember not to allow water to accumulate.

Fertilization of Brazilian wood

The rubber tree does not require much fertilizer. Fertilizer can be applied once every six months. Control the concentration and do not make it too high. A new pot can be changed once a year, otherwise the roots will fill the pot. Some base fertilizer can be applied when changing the pot.

Brazil wood pest control

During the maintenance of the rubber tree, preventive measures should be taken against diseases and pests. If it is maintained outdoors, measures should be taken to avoid rain, control watering, and ensure good ventilation. If diseases and pests occur, they can be sprayed with special pesticides.

How to grow Brazilian wood at home

The rubber tree cannot tolerate direct sunlight, and only needs soft light. It likes a humid environment. When the climate is relatively dry, you can use a spray bottle to spray some water on its branches and leaves. In addition, if the temperature is low in winter, you can move it to a warm place indoors for maintenance.

Precautions for the maintenance of Brazilian wood

The rubber tree needs to be pruned during its growth period, starting from the root node. The cut thick branches and leaves can be reinserted into loose, fertile soil as new seedlings to cultivate new plants.
