Can cyclamen survive the summer without watering? How to survive the summer safely?

1. Can cyclamen survive the summer without watering?

Cyclamen must be watered during the summer. Although it will stop growing due to the high temperatures in summer, it still needs a small amount of watering. In a high temperature environment, water itself is consumed faster. If there is no water, the soil will become dry and the plants will not be able to absorb water and will easily dry up and die. When you find that the surface soil is dry, water it in small amounts to keep the surface soil moist. Do not water it in large quantities, and do not allow water to accumulate, otherwise the bulbs will easily rot and the plant will die.

2. How to safely spend the summer with cyclamen

1. Control the temperature: The suitable temperature for cyclamen growth is between 15 and 20 degrees, and it is afraid of high temperature environment. The temperature in summer is too high so be sure to control it in time. If the temperature exceeds 30 degrees, the leaves will fall off, and if the temperature exceeds 35 degrees, they will easily rot. Keep it in a cool and ventilated place and cool it down.

2. Block strong light: The light in summer is too strong, so you need to avoid it in time. It should be moved to a cool and dark place, away from direct sunlight to avoid sunburn. You can build a shade shed, or move it to the balcony or under the eaves.

3. Reasonable fertilization: Reduce the application of fertilizer in summer. Under high temperature conditions, the amount of fertilizer that plants can absorb is limited, so it must be controlled well. Reapply when the temperature starts to drop. You can start applying foliar fertilizer from August, and resume management after you find that the bulbs have resumed growth.
