The difference between Gloxinia and African Violaceae

1. Leaf Difference

The leaves of Gloxinia are opposite, thick and broad, oblong or oval in shape, with serrations and ridges between the veins, and pedicels growing from between the leaves.

The leaves of African violets are shaped like spoons, with soft silk on the surface. The leaves are clustered at the base and are slightly fleshy. The leaves come in various shapes, such as heart-shaped, wavy, oval, and round. The back of the leaves is green-white, light pink or purple.

2. Flower Differences

The flowers of Gloxinia are axillary or terminal, and are bell-shaped with a rounded tip and 5 or 6 petals. The flowers are rich in colors, including white, red, purple-blue, pink, etc. The flowers are large and beautiful.

The flowers of African violets are clustered in the center, and each flower stalk can produce 3 to 6 flowers or more. The flower shapes and colors are rich, covering almost all kinds of flower shapes and colors.
