Flower Language

culture

Originally, the tomato was a wild berry that grew in the forests of Mexico and Peru in South America. Its color is very bright, so no one tastes it because they think it is poisonous and is considered "fox fruit". It is called "wolf peach" and is regarded as an ornamental plant.

Later in the 16th century, an English duke named Oraldana traveled to this place and fell in love with the tomato plant. He brought it back to his country and gave it to his beloved Queen Elizabeth as a gift to express his love. Therefore, tomatoes are also called "lover fruit". Since then, many people have planted tomatoes on their estates as gifts of love for their lovers.

At that time, no one ate tomatoes until the 17th century, when a French writer became interested in describing tomatoes. He thought tomatoes were very cute and attractive, so he couldn't help but eat one. It tasted sweet and sour. He thought he would be poisoned, but it turned out not to be. So the word that tomatoes are edible spread.

Another century passed, in the 18th century, Italian chefs tried to use tomatoes to make delicacies for the table. The guests loved them very much, so they became common on the table and were called rubies, golden apples, etc.
