1. How to grow Christmas cactus

1. Light: Christmas cactus likes semi-shade. In summer, you need to use a shade net to block the light. In spring and autumn, it needs diffuse light. In winter, it needs full-day exposure, but the light duration must be about 8 hours, which is conducive to the flowering of Christmas cactus.

2. Watering: Christmas cactus is afraid of waterlogging. Usually, you should observe the soil surface turning white and dry. When you hold the pot and feel the soil becomes noticeably lighter, water it thoroughly.

3. Temperature: Christmas cactus likes warmth and is afraid of cold. It needs shade and cooling in summer. In winter, the maintenance temperature must be kept at around 15℃ and not lower than 10℃ to prevent the Christmas cactus leaves from turning red and getting frostbitten.

4. Fertilization: Christmas cactus needs to consume a lot of nutrients to bloom. After each flower fades, it needs to be watered with a balanced fertilizer of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and then switch to phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, watering once every half a month to promote the plant to bloom again.

2. Cutting method of Christmas cactus

1. Cut cuttings: Choose healthy stems and leaves of plants, cut several small sections, each with 2-3 nodes, and place them in a cool and ventilated place for 2 hours to allow the wounds to air dry.

2. Use water to induce rooting: Find a foam board, cut several small holes on it with a knife, and insert the dried Christmas cactus into it. Be careful not to insert it upside down. The insertion depth should be 1 cm. Then place the foam board on the water surface. Replace the water every 2-3 days. The Christmas cactus will take root in about 20 days.

3. Cuttings in moist soil: After the Christmas cactus has taken root, prepare moist soil, insert the rooted Christmas cactus into the moist soil, and place it in a cool and ventilated place. Then wait for the soil to turn white and dry, then water it thoroughly. After observing the plant begin to grow, gradually increase the light.
