Leek cultivation technology and key points, leek cultivation time

1. Variety selection

When cultivating, you need to select seeds according to the region. Different varieties have different dormancy habits, so you need to choose according to the time to market and the method of grafting. Choose some that are of better quality, more disease-resistant, and easy to produce high yields.

2. Sowing Method

When sowing, be sure to spread the seeds evenly and cover them with soil after sowing. Cover them with about one centimeter of soil and compact them after covering. The soil must be kept moist before the seedlings emerge from the soil. Management must be strengthened and weeding must be done frequently during the seedling stage. The seedlings can be transplanted when they reach a height of 18 to 20 centimeters.

3. Land preparation and ridge making

It is a perennial vegetable and does not need to be plowed for many years after cultivation. Therefore, the land must be prepared before planting. The land should be deeply plowed first to ensure that the root system of the seedlings can develop better. Fertilizer is also needed, with 5 tons of farmyard manure, 40 kilograms of diammonium phosphate, and 10 kilograms of potassium sulfate per mu of land, and rotary tillage twice to ensure better mixing of fertilizer and soil.

4. Planting Method

Planting should be done away from high temperature and high humidity seasons. Planting in spring should be done after the summer solstice, and planting in autumn should be done after the Qingming Festival. The trench planting method can be used. The row spacing should be 30-35 cm and the trench should be 10-15 cm deep. After digging the holes, plant 20-40 plants in each hole.

5. Strengthen management

After planting, good management work must be done. In the later stage, you need to water frequently and apply fertilizer to ensure sufficient water and nutrients, so as to promote better growth of the seedlings. Especially around the beginning of autumn, this period is the vigorous growth period of the seedlings. They need to be watered once every week and quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer should be applied.
