Blue snow flower cultivation methods and techniques

Blue snow flower , as a vine plant , is widely loved for its rapid growth and abundant flowering. It can easily form a flower wall and has an extremely long flowering period. Let’s learn together the methods and techniques of growing blue snow flowers .

1. Blue snow flower maintenance method

1. Watering

Water 2 to 3 times a week in spring. In summer, due to the high temperature, water at least once a day. Water every 3 to 4 days in autumn. Reduce the frequency of watering in winter and keep the soil slightly dry to help the plants survive the winter safely. Do not water unless the soil is dry.

2. Fertilization

Apply diluted compound fertilizer solution once every 20 days during the growing season to promote lush branches and leaves. A large amount of nutrients is needed during the flowering period. Before flowering, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are mainly used, and fertilizer is applied once every half a month. A small amount of fertilizer can be applied to the edge of the pot, or potassium dihydrogen phosphate can be sprayed. Stop fertilizing after the flowers bloom.

3. Lighting

Blue snow flower likes light and needs sufficient sunlight in spring and summer to promote flower bud differentiation and ensure the quantity and quality of flowering. Insufficient light will cause the plant to grow too tall and affect flowering. When the temperature is high in summer, provide adequate shade at noon.

4. Soil

Choose loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil with good air permeability and drainage. It is recommended to use a mixture of 4 parts peat soil + 1 part perlite + 1 part vermiculite, and add decomposed organic fertilizer to increase soil fertility.

2. Precautions

1. Fertilization control

Strictly control the amount and concentration of fertilizer to avoid fertilizer damage. Avoid excessive application of nitrogen fertilizer to prevent the plants from growing too tall and affecting flowering.

2. Summer watering time

In summer, choose to water in the morning or evening, and avoid watering during the high temperatures at noon to avoid irritating the root system.

3. Drainage during rainy season

In rainy seasons, water should be removed from the soil in time to prevent root rot.

4. Watering method

When watering, pour directly into the pot and avoid watering directly on the plant to avoid damage.

In short, blue snow flower likes an environment with plenty of sunlight, but can also tolerate partial shade. It requires full sun during the spring and summer growing season.
