Strawberry is a berry with high economic value and is widely grown in China. But for novice friends, they want to grow strawberries but don’t know how to grow them . What should they do? In fact, all you need to do is choose the right seedlings. Let’s learn about how to plant strawberry seedlings . 1. Open field planting (1) Planting time Open-field cultivation is generally planted in August-September and harvested in May-June of the following year. (2) Seedling selection Select high-quality and strong seedlings and process them. Generally, it is appropriate to keep about 3 leaves, and cut off the extra leaves by retaining the petioles. The roots should also be pruned. The root length of the strawberry should be about 10 cm when it is finally planted. (3) Preparation before planting Before planting, prepare the land and make ridges, then irrigate once with a small amount of water and compact the soil appropriately to make it firm. This will prevent the plants from sinking after watering after planting, burying the seedlings and affecting their survival. (4) Planting method When planting, use two rows in one bed, with a plant spacing of 20cm and a row spacing of 25-30cm. The depth should be such that the stem of the seedling center is flush with the ground and the seedling center is not buried by the soil. Water thoroughly once immediately after planting. If any plants are found with exposed roots and silted cores, or if the direction of the inflorescence does not meet the requirements, they should be adjusted immediately and replanted. 2. Greenhouse cultivation (1) Planting time The best time to grow strawberries in a greenhouse is mid-September. (2) Seedling selection We select disease-free and strong seedlings with well-developed root systems and strong disease resistance, and the strawberries produced are large, high-yield and high-quality. (3) Transplanting in separate sheds Water the nursery thoroughly once on the day of digging the seedlings to avoid root damage as much as possible, and transplant them in different sheds according to the size of the seedlings. If you choose to grow seedlings in nutrient pots, take off the plastic pots when planting. The spacing between plants in the Fengxiang greenhouse is about 20 cm, and 2500-3000 plants are planted in each greenhouse. (4) Greenhouse management Control the temperature and humidity of the greenhouse to ensure the good growth of greenhouse strawberries. Generally, it should be noted that the temperature in the greenhouse should not be higher than 30℃. In addition, it is recommended to use transparent film in the greenhouse, because normal light is required during the normal growth stage of strawberries. If the light is too weak, it will affect the growth of strawberry seedlings. When the outdoor temperature is below 5℃, it is necessary to promptly put up the small semicircular arch shed and cover it with a transparent plastic film. In general, strawberry seedlings can be planted in the open field or in a greenhouse. Different planting methods have certain differences in specific planting time and methods, so you must be careful to distinguish them.
