How to care for the newly bought lotus

1. How to deal with the newly bought lotus

1. Purchase bare roots online: If you purchase bare-root succulents online, you need to pick off the dry leaves, cut off the shriveled fibrous roots, and place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry for 2 days. Then prepare moist soil for planting, maintain it in diffuse light after potting, and increase light and watering after a week.

2. Finished succulents: If you buy finished succulents at a flower market or flower shop, you can move them directly to dry in the sun. Provide appropriate shade in the summer, water thoroughly when the soil is dry, ventilate frequently, and prevent diseases and pests.

2. How to care for the newly bought lotus

1. Light: The succulent plant likes light. The more light it gets, the more compact the leaves will be, and the tips of the leaves will be slightly red. When lacking light, succulents will grow too tall, the leaves will turn green, and the rosettes will become loose. However, you still need to block out the scorching sun in summer to prevent sunburn.

2. Temperature: The temperature requirement of the lotus is not high. It should be placed in a cool and ventilated place in summer and in a warm place indoors in winter. Ensure that the maintenance temperature is above 10℃, the succulents will continue to grow. If the temperature is below 10℃, control the water or even cut off the water.

3. Watering: The temperature is low in winter and the lotus is in a dormant state, so water it less. During the peak growing seasons in spring and autumn, wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering it thoroughly. Giving a little water can prevent the succulents from growing too tall. In summer, the maintenance environment should be cool and ventilated, and watering can be carried out as usual.

4. Pests and diseases: Pay more attention to ventilation, spray carbendazim and flower protector once every half a month, or sprinkle some white medicine on the edge of the pot to prevent diseases and pests of the lotus.
