How to raise newly bought peach eggs

How to raise newly bought peach eggs

1. Pot soil

For the bare-root succulents you just bought, it is recommended to plant them in a tall, thin pot with legs. Use expanded clay to pad the bottom of the pot at 1/3 of its height, and mix 70% granular soil and 30% peat soil, and plant them in moist soil. Place it in a well-ventilated place with diffused light, and water it in the sun after a week. (Skip this step for finished succulents)

2. Lighting

If you want the peach eggs to be in good condition, you need to get more sun exposure in spring, autumn and winter and maintain them in full sunlight. If conditions permit, it is best to grow them outdoors, as the succulents can become pink and tender in the sun, which looks particularly beautiful. However, the light is too strong in summer, so you must pull up the sunshade net to block the light at noon.

3. Watering

Peach Egg is the most suitable for controlled cultivation. If you observe that the leaves of the succulent are slightly wrinkled and no longer plump, it means that the Peach Egg is lacking water. At this time, we use a sprinkler to water the soil thoroughly, which will allow the root system of the peach egg to develop, the stems to be thick, and the leaves to be round and full.

4. Pests and diseases

In spring and summer, peach eggs are prone to diseases and pests. It is best to spray the succulents and the soil with pesticides for prevention every half a month. Generally, use carbendazim and flower protector to spray alternately. Move the plant indoors for maintenance in winter, and pay more attention to ventilation, which can also prevent diseases and pests.

5. Note

When raising peach eggs at home, you must ensure indoor ventilation. If you find black spots on the succulent stems, cut them off and propagate cuttings in time. In winter, the temperature should be kept above 10℃. If the temperature is low and the light intensity is poor, water must be controlled to prevent the peach eggs from growing too tall and getting frostbitten.
