How to Grow a Vanilla Orchid

How to Grow a Vanilla Orchid

1. Site selection

When planting vanilla orchids, you must first choose soil that is well-drained and relatively fertile, and acidic soil is better. It is a climbing plant, so it needs a support to climb.

2. Planting

The time for transplanting can be in May-June or September-October, and disinfection should be carried out when planting seedlings. After planting, cover it with a layer of 1-2 cm of fine soil, leaving its leaves and cuts exposed.

3. Coverage

The roots of vanilla orchid are mainly in the 5 cm thick soil surface layer. Using weeds to cover the roots is very beneficial to its growth.

IV. Management

During the growth period, the soil must be kept moist and fertilized appropriately, 5-6 times a year. You can apply fully decomposed organic fertilizer. In addition, weeding should be carried out regularly.
