How to take care of newly bought mint

How to take care of newly bought mint

1. How to grow the mint you just bought

Mint will not start growing immediately after you buy it. At this time, you need to provide it with a relatively warm and well-ventilated environment for it to grow. To avoid root damage, you need to stop fertilizing and reduce watering, provide appropriate light, and do not place it directly in direct sunlight.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Light: It is a long-day plant, but when it is first bought, it has not yet adapted to the new environment, so it cannot be placed directly under strong light. It needs to be placed in a place with soft light for maintenance. After it slowly resumes normal growth, it can be gradually given sufficient light and the daylight time can be extended.

2. Temperature: It has a strong adaptability to temperature. When you first buy it, you can place it in an environment with a temperature of about 25℃ for maintenance, so that it can better adapt to the pot.

3. Watering: When you just buy it, it has not started to grow normally and its demand for water is not great. At this time, you need to reduce the amount of watering as appropriate and start watering normally after it resumes growth. Under normal circumstances, water the plant about once every 4-5 days. Make sure to water thoroughly each time and keep the soil moist but not wet.

4. Fertilization: When it is just bought, it has not yet begun to resume its normal growth rate, and does not require much nutrients at this time. To avoid root damage, fertilization needs to be temporarily stopped. After it resumes growth, you can apply nitrogen fertilizer once a month. Depending on the growth situation, you can add some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers appropriately to help it grow better.
