Strawberry planting conditions, climate and temperature requirements

Strawberry planting conditions, climate and temperature requirements

Strawberry Introduction

Strawberries are rich in nutrients, have high nutritional value, and have health benefits. Strawberries are also called pineapple strawberries. Common varieties are Shuofeng, Mingjing, Mingxu, Chunxu, Xingduhao, and Shimei No. 1.

Strawberry growing conditions

Strawberries prefer a cool and sunny environment. The strawberry root system is shallow and the transpiration is large. They have a large demand for water and certain requirements for the soil. They are suitable for planting in fertile, loose neutral or slightly acidic loam. They cannot be planted in heavy clay soil. Strawberries can also be planted in sandy soil with more base fertilizer and frequent irrigation.

Strawberry Planting Climate and Temperature

Strawberries prefer a cool climate, and the suitable growth temperature is between 15 and 22 degrees. They are not resistant to high temperature weather. The maximum temperature cannot exceed 35 degrees, and the minimum temperature cannot be lower than 5 degrees, otherwise the strawberries will grow poorly.

Suitable areas for growing strawberries

Strawberries can grow in various soils, but their roots are very shallow and are generally distributed in the top 30 cm of soil. Therefore, the surface structure and texture of the soil will affect the quality and yield of strawberries. In order to make it grow better and obtain high-yield and high-quality berries, it is best to plant it in soil rich in organic matter and with good water and fertilizer retention capabilities.

Strawberries were originally distributed in South America, and are also distributed in Asia, Europe, and America. They are grown in China's Hebei Province, Shandong Province, and various southern provinces. The strawberry planting area is more than 1.5 million acres, and the producing areas are mainly distributed in Sichuan, Hebei, Anhui, Liaoning, Shandong and other places.

Strawberry planting time

Strawberries are generally sown and raised in spring, and can also be sown after harvesting and planting in July and August. The survival rate is relatively high if they are sown immediately after harvesting, but warming measures need to be taken during low temperatures.

Benefits of Strawberry Planting

If 7,000 to 8,000 strawberry seedlings are planted in one acre of land, the yield is generally around 5,000 kilograms. Then, based on the price of 10 yuan per kilogram, the output value of one acre is about 40,000 yuan. Excluding the planting cost, the income of one acre is about 30,000 to 35,000 yuan. The specific input-output still needs to be determined based on actual conditions.
