What to do if you water lavender too much? How often should you water lavender?

1. Drain water in time

If you water your lavender too much, you need to drain the water out immediately. If water accumulates in the soil for a long time, it will affect the respiration of the roots and easily cause them to rot. In addition, preventive measures should be taken during the rainy season, such as moving the plants indoors as soon as possible, or building a canopy for them to avoid being exposed to rain.

2. Loose soil and ventilate

After draining the lavender, the soil needs to be loosened properly. The moisture in the topsoil evaporates quickly, but the soil inside is often still wet. Turning over the wet soil can speed up the evaporation of moisture. In addition, increasing environmental ventilation can allow moisture to be lost faster and reduce the growth of bacteria, which is very helpful for the plant to resume growth.

3. Remove the pot and prune the roots

If water has been stagnant for a period of time, the roots of the plant will begin to rot, and it is necessary to remove the plant from the pot and trim the roots. First remove the plant from the pot, making sure the soil is intact to avoid damaging the roots. After removing the plant from the pot, slowly remove the soil, check the condition of the roots, and cut off any rotten parts. After root pruning, spray carbendazim for disinfection to prevent recurrence of wounds.

4. Daily watering

Lavender does not require much water, so you must not water it too much. It is usually watered after the soil is dry. The watering intervals are different in different seasons. In spring and autumn, it is generally watered every 2-3 days, in summer it can be watered every day, and in winter it needs to be watered once a week.
