How to cultivate and manage peony, peony cultivation and management

1. Cultivation Methods

It is easy to cultivate and therefore is widely used in gardens. When planting, choose seedlings with full buds, thick stems and branches, and vigorous root systems, as this will have a higher survival rate. The time is usually chosen in late September. First, dig a hole according to the size of the seedling, then put the seedling in, let the roots spread out, and carefully fill the soil. After filling, press it firmly with your feet to avoid it tilting. Water thoroughly after planting and take good care of it, and it will sprout in the spring of next year.

2. Management methods

1. Watering: Watering should be determined according to the climate. When the weather is dry and the temperature is high, water more often, water frequently, and spray water often to maintain humidity. When the temperature is low and the climate is cold, reduce the frequency of watering, especially in winter. Do not water unless the soil is dry to avoid frostbite.

2. Fertilization: It consumes a lot of nutrients during its growth period, so it needs to be fertilized frequently. Generally, follow the method of applying thin fertilizers frequently. Only with sufficient nutrients can the plant grow vigorously and bloom as scheduled. Pay attention to choosing different types of fertilizers according to different growth stages to meet its needs.

3. Pruning: Pruning mainly includes determining the trunk, bud emergence and bud picking. Only by pruning correctly can the plant shape be more beautiful and symmetrical. It is necessary to promptly cut off sick and weak branches, duplicate branches, and overly dense branches to ensure internal ventilation and light transmission so that nutrients can be concentrated.
