How to artificially pollinate tomatoes, how to pollinate greenhouse tomatoes

1. How to artificially pollinate

When doing artificial pollination, you can prepare a brush or a clean brush. After its inflorescence opens, the stamens inside will naturally release pollen. Then use a brush or a writing brush to dip the pollen on the stamens and brush it on the stigma. This will spread the pollen and ensure successful pollination. Note that it is best to do it at noon on a sunny day, so that the pollination effect will be better.

When artificial pollination is assisted, an electric vibrator can also be used. When it comes into contact with the tomato, it will cause it to vibrate, and the pollen on the stamens will fall off, which can help pollination.

2. How to pollinate greenhouse crops

Most of the crops grown outdoors are pollinated by insects and wind, and the fruit set rate is also very high. However, greenhouse cultivation cannot be carried out by wind power and there are relatively few insects. You can use the help of bumblebees or other bees to release a large number of bees in the greenhouse. The bees will help with pollination and the effect is very good. This method is more commonly used.

3. Flowering period management

It is very sensitive to temperature during flowering, so pay attention to temperature control. The best temperature is 24-26 degrees during the day and 12-14 degrees at night. Especially in the 5 days before and 3 days after flowering, the temperature should not be higher than 30 degrees or lower than 12 degrees, otherwise it will affect pollination and fertilization. In addition, pruning is required during the initial flowering period, and the large flowers on the first panicle should be removed, as this will affect the fruit setting of other flowers.
