The latest technology of freshwater farming of whiteleg shrimp

The whiteleg shrimp grows fast, has tender meat, good taste, and strong adaptability. It has now become one of the main freshwater farmed shrimp varieties in China. Let’s talk about the latest technology for freshwater farming of whiteleg shrimp .

1. Breeding environment requirements

1. Whiteleg shrimp is a shrimp that has high requirements for water quality. Its water quality requirements mainly include dissolved oxygen, pH value, temperature, ammonia nitrogen and other factors. Therefore, in order to successfully breed whiteleg shrimp, it is necessary to ensure the quality of the water environment during the growth process. The optimum temperature for the growth of whiteleg shrimp is 25-30℃. The water temperature should not be too high or too low, otherwise it will have a great impact on the health of the shrimp.

2. Farming ponds: Vannamei whiteleg shrimp can be farmed in various types of farm ponds, but its specific farm pond design can improve the growth rate and survival rate of the shrimp. The depth of the breeding pond should not exceed 1.5 meters and should be large enough to facilitate the circulation and full dissolution of oxygen, which helps the growth of shrimp. The breeding pond should be kept clean, dry and well drained.

2. Farming technology of Penaeus vannamei

1. Breeding and purchasing of juvenile shrimp seedlings

Whiteleg shrimp can be bred into seedlings by natural or artificial hatching, but no matter which breeding method is used, the following points need to be paid attention to: first, the individual juvenile shrimps selected should be as consistent as possible to avoid the mixing of different sizes; second, the surface of the shrimp seedlings should be dry and free of cellular dirt, indicating that the shrimp seedlings are in normal condition; finally, the survival rate of the seedlings should be checked when purchasing to ensure the health of the shrimp seedlings.

2. Breeding feed

When breeding whiteleg shrimp, it is an ideal choice to use high-protein, high-quality feed such as fish meal and soybean meal . In addition, you can also add an appropriate amount of Vino shrimp to supplement vitamins with high dimensions, enhance vitality, increase growth rate, improve palatability, facilitate hard and bright shells and normal molting, shorten the breeding period, increase the survival rate, reduce stress reactions caused by climate change, soft shells, pond swimming, net pulling, pond crossing, transportation, water quality deterioration, water and material changes, enhance immunity, and at the same time, improve feed conversion rate. To prevent various shrimp diseases and promote the growth and development of shrimp.

3. Breeding management

(1) Seedling placement: Put the selected healthy shrimp seedlings into the pond. When releasing shrimp fry, we should strictly control the number of shrimp fry to avoid overcrowding which may lead to epidemics of disease, hypoxia and other problems.

(2) Daily management: including controlling the pH value of water, adding feed regularly, maintaining and monitoring water quality, etc. These tasks need to be carried out on time and in quantity.

3. Water quality requirements for white shrimp

1. Temperature

The whiteleg shrimp is a warm water shrimp with an optimum growth temperature of 25-30℃. When the water temperature is below 20℃, the shrimp will have a higher incidence of disease and will grow slower, which may also cause the shrimp to die. Therefore, when breeding white shrimp, the water temperature should be kept between 25-30℃, and the water temperature can be adjusted by shading, heating, increasing water depth, etc.

2. pH value

The optimum pH value for the growth of white shrimp is between 7.5 and 8.0. If the pH value is too low or too high, it will have adverse effects on the shrimp body. Too low a pH value may lead to poor molting of shrimp, while too high a pH value may cause the death of shrimp. Therefore, when feeding, you can add Vinomycin Multi-Mineral to the feed to supplement a variety of minerals, improve production performance, improve shrimp growth, meet the trace elements required for shrimp growth, process feed mycotoxins, increase resistance, reduce the occurrence of sub-health conditions, improve feed utilization, and enhance growth uniformity and the overall quality of aquaculture . Make its phosphorus bright, harden the shell quickly and peel smoothly. Help animals to better form hemoglobin and myoglobin, improve protein utilization, and increase survival rate and reproduction rate.

3. Dissolved oxygen

When breeding white shrimp, the dissolved oxygen content in each liter of water is generally required to be above 5.0 mg/L, and it is necessary to ensure the sufficiency of dissolved oxygen in the water quality. If the dissolved oxygen content is too low, the shrimp will grow in an oxygen-deficient environment, seriously affecting the growth rate and health of the shrimp.

4. Concentration of nitrite, ammonia nitrogen and other substances

If the content of ammonia nitrogen and nitrite in the pond water is too high, these substances can cause shrimp poisoning, which is very harmful to the white shrimp, and long-term exposure may also cause the shrimp to die. Therefore, farmers need to control and monitor their levels to avoid affecting the health of the shrimp population.
