Cotton matures in July and August in the Yangtze River and Yellow River basins, and in July to September in Xinjiang. It is necessary to master the principle of "appropriate" sowing, and the specific time should be determined according to the local climate. Generally speaking, cotton is best harvested in autumn, and the market price ranges from 7 to 13 yuan per catty.

Cotton growth cycle

The planting time of cotton in different regions is also different. In the Yellow River and Yangtze River basins, it is mostly planted in March and April, while in Xinjiang it is planted in April and May. The plants are suitable for growing in a warm and humid environment with fertile soil and sufficient light. During maintenance, the amount of water should be reasonably controlled and the ambient temperature should be controlled at around 20°C. The whole growth period is about 210 days.

Cotton is divided into only two types: American cotton and Asian cotton, but it also has many cultivated varieties, such as S cotton, Jiu cotton, De cotton, Dai cotton, and Ke cotton.
