Chrysanthemum cutting time, how to cut

Chrysanthemum cutting time, how to cut

1. Cutting time

When taking cuttings of chrysanthemums, you need to choose the right time. Although there are not too many requirements for the time of cuttings, and cuttings can be taken all year round, the choice of time is still critical to ensure a good survival rate. The period from spring to early summer is more suitable, and the best time is April to May. At this time, the growth and germination ability is very strong, which can promote the growth and development of the plants. The temperature has risen and the general temperature is very suitable. At this time, cuttings are very easy to survive.

Other times are also acceptable, but not as suitable as spring. If the time is postponed, the temperature will be very high and the sunlight will be very strong, which can easily cause the branches to die from lack of water. It can be carried out indoors in autumn and winter, but the temperature is lower and the activity of the plants is low, so the survival rate is relatively low.

2. How to take cuttings

Before cuttings, you must choose good branches. They must be strong and full of vitality. The length does not need to be too long, about 20 cm will be enough. After proper processing, cut the bottom into an inclined surface and remove the leaves at the lower end. Prepare the substrate for cuttings. Air permeability is very important and it must be sterilized before use. After everything is prepared, you can start cuttings. Insert the branches into the substrate, place them in a semi-shaded environment with diffuse light, water them, keep them warm, and promote rooting as soon as possible.
