What to do if lipstick flowers shed leaves

What to do if lipstick flowers shed leaves

The lipstick flower is shedding leaves because of the root problem

When the lipstick plant is growing, if there is a problem with the roots, such as too much watering causing root rot, or too little watering causing the roots to dry up, this is very serious, because root damage can also cause leaf problems, such as large-scale leaf falling. In severe cases, the plant may even die.

Therefore, when cultivating and flowering, you need to pay attention to the roots. The most important thing is the issue of watering. Watering should be appropriate, not too much or too little. The amount of watering depends on the growth condition of the plant. If you find that the leaves fall off after flowering because of the fertilizer in the roots, you need to treat the roots. First, cut off the rotten roots, then re-pot and maintain the plant. After that, you must pay attention to watering.

The reason why lipstick flowers shed their leaves is because of the temperature

Unsuitable temperature can also cause leaves to fall off after flowering. This usually happens when the temperature is too low.

After the plant blooms, it needs a warmer growing environment, and even in winter it needs to maintain a relatively high temperature. If the temperature is too low in winter, when the temperature is below 5°C, frostbite is likely to occur. If the lipstick flower is frozen, the plant will be severely damaged, sometimes causing large areas of leaves to fall off.

In winter, lipstick flowers cannot withstand too high a temperature. Generally, they need to be brought indoors for maintenance when the temperature continues to drop. They can be placed in a sunny place indoors and maintain a high temperature, preferably not lower than 5°C.
