Greenhouse strawberry planting technology and management methods

Greenhouse strawberry planting technology and management methods

1. Variety selection

Since it is grown in a greenhouse, it is generally necessary to choose varieties with a shallow dormancy period, and also pay attention to appearance, quality, resistance and yield. The more common varieties include Fengxiang, Chunxiang, Mingbao, etc. They only need dozens of hours to survive the winter dormancy and are very suitable for planting. In addition, there are Jiuneng, Shuofeng, Xindu No. 1, etc., which are all good choices.

2. Soil and base fertilizer

If you want it to grow well, you must provide suitable soil and certain base fertilizer. The garden site should generally be located in a higher and flatter place. The loose soil helps with drainage, and the rich organic matter can provide certain nutrients. Usually neutral or slightly acidic soil is chosen. It is better if beans and wheat have been planted there before. If tomatoes, green peppers, etc. have been planted there, it is not suitable for planting strawberries. Before planting, weeds must be removed, the land must be prepared and fertilized.

3. How to plant

The first step in planting strawberries is to transplant them. Separate the strong seedlings from the mother plant and plant them in fertile soil. After the inflorescence grows, transplant them into the greenhouse. Before planting, cut off old leaves, diseased leaves and runners. If the seedlings are too small or too weak, be sure to remove them. The planting depth must be controlled so that the roots are neither exposed nor buried too deep.

4. Management methods

After planting, water the plants once every morning and evening to keep the soil moist. Stop flooding the soil 10 days before you prepare to cover the greenhouse with film. After the leaves turn green again, loosen the soil appropriately and spray a little carbendazim or methyl thiophanate on the leaves. Covering the soil with a layer of mulch will help increase ground temperature and prevent weed growth. Wait until drought occurs and supply water in moderation, and spray foliar fertilizer when the plant grows a little bigger.
